A bit more about me
The professional stuff is on the About page. This is the rest.
Outside of the therapy room, I'm married to my wonderful husband, and we share our home with Charlie and Spikey (cats, both very opinionated) and Pringle, our corgi, who is basically running the household.
Growing up, I joined โ in no particular order โ drama club, computer club, broadcasting club, and an a cappella group. My mum's catchphrase was "Oh, something new again โ why can't you just stick to one thing..." She wasn't wrong. I also attempted seven languages. English stuck. The others are somewhere in the archives. My academic path followed a similar logic โ pre-med, nursing, acupuncture, psychology, expressive arts therapy, and I'm currently taking an art course. Each one taught me something I actually use. My mum had thoughts about this too.
I've lived in New York City (my peak ADHD era, truly) and Los Angeles. Back in Korea, I made a short film about an asexual person in a polyamorous gay throuple โ because apparently that was also on the list. My husband and I also owned a bar together for a time, which taught me more about people, stress, and nervous systems than I expected.
I hold a freediving licence โ Molchanov level one, for the curious. Somewhere along the way I discovered that going very deep and very quiet underwater is, as it turns out, excellent for the nervous system.
I share all of this because I think it matters to know a little about who your therapist is as a person. And also because if you've ever been told you have too many interests, I'd like you to know you're in good company.
