Terms & Conditions

Paul Shin Therapy, Ireland
Effective date: 27 July 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of this website and of our secure client portal, My Sessions. By accessing or using the website or the portal, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

These terms cover use of the website and portal only. The therapy services themselves are governed by your Therapy Agreement (or Couples Therapy Agreement), which is provided to you and signed before therapy begins. Where the two differ in relation to therapy services, your signed therapy agreement takes precedence.

1. About this website

This website is operated by Paul Shin Therapy. The content is provided for general information about psychotherapy services and does not constitute medical, psychological, or legal advice.

2. Use of content

All content on this website, including text and design, is owned by or licensed to Paul Shin Therapy unless otherwise stated.

  • You may view and read the content for personal, non-commercial use
  • You may not copy, reproduce, republish, or redistribute content without prior written permission

3. No therapeutic relationship

Viewing this website, using the portal, or contacting us does not in itself create a therapeutic relationship. A therapeutic relationship is formed only after appropriate assessment, agreement, and informed consent have taken place.

4. The My Sessions client portal

My Sessions is provided to clients of Paul Shin Therapy so that they can view their appointments, complete forms, and arrange payment. Access is by invitation only.

  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that takes place under your account
  • Please tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to your account
  • Access links sent by email are personal to you and should not be shared
  • Please keep the information in your account accurate and up to date, including your contact and emergency contact details
  • The portal is not a messaging or crisis service; see section 8 below
  • We may suspend or withdraw portal access where therapy has ended, or in the event of misuse

5. Couples accounts

Where partners attend couples therapy, their portal accounts may be linked. In that case, appointments for shared couples sessions are visible to both partners and either partner may arrange payment for a shared session. Forms completed individually, any individual sessions, and clinical notes are not visible to the other partner.

6. Bookings, payment and cancellation

Appointment times shown in the portal are held for you but are confirmed only once payment has been received, unless otherwise agreed. Fees, cancellation notice periods, late arrival, and non-attendance are governed by your signed therapy agreement.

  • Payments are made by Revolut payment link or bank transfer, as shown with each appointment
  • Card and banking details are handled by the relevant payment provider or your bank โ€” they are not collected or stored by us
  • Marking an appointment as paid in the portal is a notification to us, not a confirmation of receipt; the appointment is confirmed once payment has been verified
  • Where payment is not received in advance of a session, the reserved time may be released

7. Forms and electronic signatures

Forms and agreements may be completed and signed electronically in the portal. By typing your name, drawing your signature, and submitting an agreement, you confirm that you intend this to have the same effect as your handwritten signature, in accordance with the Irish Electronic Commerce Act 2000 and Regulation (EU) 910/2014 (eIDAS).

A copy of each signed agreement is emailed to you and is also available to you on request. Please complete forms accurately and honestly, as they inform your care.

8. Not an emergency service

Neither this website nor the portal is monitored continuously, and neither is a crisis or emergency service. If you are in crisis or at immediate risk, contact the emergency services (999 or 112), your GP, or local mental health or crisis services.

9. Accuracy of information

We aim to keep information on this website and in the portal accurate and up to date. However, we do not guarantee that all content is complete, current, or free from error. Content may be updated or changed without notice.

10. External links

This website may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience only. Paul Shin Therapy has no control over the content or practices of external sites and accepts no responsibility for them.

11. Website and portal availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the website or portal. Access may be suspended or restricted temporarily for maintenance or technical reasons. If the portal is unavailable when you need to arrange or change an appointment, please contact us by email.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Paul Shin Therapy shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, this website or the portal, or reliance on their content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Privacy

Your use of this website and the portal is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data โ€” including health-related information โ€” is collected, stored, and used.

14. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the website or portal after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
